Houston, Texas - February 16, 2021

CEMEX USA announced today that as part of the company’s growth initiative it is expanding its Texas network with the acquisition of a ready-mix business in San Antonio.

CEMEX acquired the ready-mix assets of Beck Readymix Concrete Co. LTD., including three strategically located ready-mix concrete plants and one portable plant to service the San Antonio metropolitan area and surrounding areas.

“Texas is experiencing explosive growth, and CEMEX has repeatedly shown it is ready to make moves to help fuel it,” said CEMEX USA Texas Regional President Scott Ducoff. “By acquiring these facilities, CEMEX will be able to deliver the high-quality products that many Texans are already familiar with to satisfy the high demand of customers in one of the state’s most dynamic markets. We welcome our new employees and look forward to a smooth transition for them.”

CEMEX’s newly acquired operations sit roughly 25 miles from the company’s Balcones Cement Plant and Balcones Quarry in New Braunfels, Texas. CEMEX has owned and operated both facilities since 1994. The Balcones Quarry, the largest aggregates quarry in the United States by volume per the U.S. Geological Survey, recently celebrated its 50^th anniversary.

CEMEX’s last major expansion of its Texas footprint was in 2018 with the acquisition of its Chico Quarry which supplies the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. With this new expansion, CEMEX products will be available to customers in San Antonio, Houston and Dallas-Fort Worth, the state’s three largest metropolitan areas along with the Rio Grande Valley.
