CEMEX USA recognized by the Wildlife Habitat Council for Conservation Education and Outreach Programs

Nine sites in Florida, Tennessee, Ohio and Georgia achieved certification

Nine CEMEX USA sites received certifications through the Wildlife Habitat Council’s (WHC) Corporate Lands for Learning and Wildlife at Work Programs.

Corporate Lands for Learning Program Certifications
The Corporate Lands for Learning certification recognizes programs for their exemplary conservation education and outreach opportunities provided to their local communities.

Four of the sites were recertified with WHC’s Corporate Lands for Learning (CLL) program, including 474 Sand Mine (FL), Brooksville South Operations (FL), FEC Quarry (FL) and Knoxville Cement Plant (TN). The Fairborn Cement Plant (OH) received a new certification.

Wildlife at Work Certifications
The Wildlife at Work certification recognizes programs for creating, conserving, and restoring habitats with the involvement of employees and members of the community.

Six of our sites received their recertification for Wildlife at Work, including 474 Sand Mine (FL), Brooksville South Operations (FL), Center Hill Mine (FL), FEC Quarry (FL), Gator Sand Mine (FL), and Lake Wales Sand Mine (FL). The Clinchfield Cement Plant (GA) received a new certification.

The Wildlife Habitat Council increases the quality and amount of wildlife habitat on corporate, private and public lands. WHC builds partnerships with corporations and conservation groups that balance the demands of economic growth with the requirements of a healthy environment. WHC wildlife habitat and education programs are found in 45 states, the District of Columbia and 12 other countries.
