CEMEX USA’s Lytle Creek Quarry earns CalCIMA Safety Award

CEMEX USA announced Friday Lytle Creek Quarry near Rialto, Calif., received the prestigious 2017 California Construction and Industrial Materials Association (CalCIMA) Excellence in Safety Award in the Large Aggregates category for its attention to safety.
CalCIMA representatives presented CEMEX USA officials with the award Tuesday at the organization’s educational conference in Squaw Valley, Calif., near Lake Tahoe.
“We are honored to be recognized by CalCIMA for the hard work by our employees at Lytle Creek Quarry,” said CEMEX USA Regional President – West Region Eric Wittmann. “Safety is our priority at CEMEX, and this quarry is a shining example of how it’s done.”
Back in September, Lytle Creek Quarry received a certificate from the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association for safety. The facility also received recognition in the CEMEX Global Health and Safety Awards in April.

CalCIMA also honored CEMEX USA Fleet Maintenance Manager – West Region Gary Clay with the “Spirit of the Industry” award for demonstrating professional core values of integrity, leadership and commitment. Gary serves as CalCIMA’s Transportation Committee Chair, keeping the organization’s members informed on new issues and trends in equipment and technology while supporting educational training.
Brian Mastin, CEMEX USA’s Director of Environmental Services – West Region, also was recognized by CalCIMA with the organization’s 2017 President’s Award. The award honors those who have outstanding dedication to the mission and goals of CalCIMA and a diligent commitment to the preservation of the industry.
