CEMEX wins ARPA Community Excellence Award in Arizona

The Arizona Rock Products Association has bestowed its Community Excellence Award on a CEMEX plant for the third year in a row, this time going to the Coolidge Aggregate and Ready-Mix Plant. The award recognizes aggregate producers whose community involvement and support activities enhance the public’s perception and support of the aggregates industry.

“This award highlights how CEMEX USA is building a better future for our communities in Arizona in every front, from applying best-in-class management practices in all our community outreach activities to having rigorous environmental compliance practices,” says Eric Wittmann, President of CEMEX USA West Region. “The Coolidge plant is to be commended for a job very well done, and I extend my sincere congratulations to the entire team.”

Agustin Figueroa, Environmental Director for the Arizona and Southern Nevada Region, credits the Coolidge employees’ dedication to excellent housekeeping and extensive involvement in both community outreach and industry support activities as the deciding factors in tipping the judges’ decision their way.

Prior to the Coolidge Plant, the 7th Street Ready Mix Plant won the award in 2013 and the West Aggregates & Ready Mix Plant took home the honor in 2014.
