  1. Safety is a priority at the CEMEX Brooksville South Cement Plant with multiple upgrades at the facility in the past year. The plant has also been recognized repeatedly for its safety initiatives and efforts.
    • Brooksville South earned the 2017 PCA Chairman Award and the 2018 PCA Safety
      Innovation Award
    • Safety upgrades were implemented to reduce risks of working at heights
    • Higher-than-industry standards are being implemented to manage contractors including
      additional safety meetings and training

  1. Our Brooksville South Cement Plant cares about the community with sustainability initiatives that include energy conservation efforts and increased use of alternative fuels.
    • Plant has received EPA’s ENERGY STAR Certification in six out of seven years for energy
      management program
    • Plant is increasing reliance of alternative fuels, substituting a larger amount in place of coal
      in the kilns
  2. CEMEX cares about the communities in which we live and operate, actively donating to and partnering with local organizations.
    • CEMEX is involved with the following:
      • Local school athletics
      • Future Farmers of America
      • Science and Educational events (Manufacturing Day, STEAM Night)
      • Local schools (Spring Hill and Moton Elementary)
      • Non-profits (Arc Nature Coast, Habitat for Humanity, New Beginnings Youth Shelter)
      • Local fire departments
  3. Our Brooksville South Cement Plant provides well-paying jobs and good benefits to area residents as well as pays a significant amount of taxes to Hernando County to support schools, first responders and county initiatives.
    • Up to 40 employees have advanced from entry-level jobs to supervisory positions at the plant
    • Plant is developing NCCER Training program to develop employees. It is expected to be deployed by the end of 2019
  4. CEMEX helps transform our community, providing materials for homes, schools and infrastructure, including Oak Hill Hospital.
