Apply NowCEMEX provides internship opportunities for students like you to gain knowledge and experience in our industry. Our internship opportunities are offered in our four main focuses: Cement, Ready-Mix, Aggregates, and Corporate.
Within each one you will be immersed in relevant, industry-related projects and assignments day-to-day, while simultaneously participating in a learning journey which focuses on professional growth.
CORPORATE
CEMEX offers a wide variety of internships within our corporate functions, including strategic planning, logistics, HR, IT, communications, sustainability and more. As a corporate intern you will spend about 10 weeks immersed in the day-to-day action of the department, surrounded by peers in one of our corporate offices around the US.
Each intern will undergo a learning journey, designed to give him or her a combination of first-hand professional experience through on-the-job training and related projects. As well as opportunities for professional growth through networking and workshops. At the end of the summer, you will go back to school possessing new knowledge, skills, contacts, leadership abilities and corporate experience.
CEMENT
Cement is the most widely used construction material worldwide and in many ways the heart of our business. CEMEX prides itself on delivering its customers with the finest product and superior customer service. Our cement interns are given a 10 week training program in which they will gain experience in maintenance, production, clinker, raw meal and more. They will also be engaged in a learning journey along with the rest of the CEMEX interns across the US, which will focus on professional development.
If you are a student majoring in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mining engineering and industrial engineering, and eager to learn more about this industry, you may be a good fit.
Other engineering degrees may also be considered.
READY-MIX
The composite of cement, aggregates, water and admixtures creates ready-mix concrete – a major line of CEMEX’s business. This area is where CEMEX best demonstrates its innovation in concrete technology and sustainability. As a ready-mix intern you will have the opportunity to participate in each of the important pillars that support the ready-mix business, such as quality control, customer service, maintenance and sales. They will also be engaged in a learning journey along with the rest of the CEMEX interns across the US, which will focus on professional development.
A CEMEX ready-mix internship may be a good fit for you if you are majoring in engineering, business, construction management, concrete industry management or related degrees.
AGGREGATES
Aggregates are composed of geological materials such as stone, sand and gravel. They are used in all forms of construction, in either their natural state or crushed into small pieces. Our ready-mix product is composed of 60-75% aggregates, making this line of business integral to the creation of our products.
As an aggregates intern you will gain experience in pit operations, plant maintenance, shipping, loadout, sales and more. Along with the rest of the CEMEX interns across the US, you will also be engaged in a learning journey which will focus on professional development. This internship may be a good fit for you if you are majoring in engineering, business, construction management, concrete industry management or other related degrees.
We want our interns to gain experience that aligns with their majors and challenges them to push beyond their limits. We care about the development of our people and our interns are no exception. Ultimately, we want our interns to gain tools and skills that will serve them well in their future career endeavors, and an opportunity to join CEMEX through our TDP Program upon graduation. Applications are accepted year-round until mid-spring.
