Aggregate FAQs

Here you will find answers to your frequently asked questions (FAQs), and additional points of interest about aggregates.

How big is a ton?

Rocks vary tremendously in weight and density, but a good rule of thumb for aggregates is: 1 cubic yard = 1 ton

How can I figure out the amount of aggregates I will need for my project?

Use our Tonnage Calculator to estimate the volume of aggregate needed. To use the calculator, first choose which units you'll be using: English or metric. Then, simply enter the width, length, and thickness of the project, select the thickness measurement in feet or inches, and hit the Calculate button. Click here to access the Aggregates/Asphalt Materials Calculator.
