Broco Stucco
Basic use
Broco Stucco Cement will produce a plaster mortar designed “M” or “FM” as defined in ASTM C-926 “Standard Specification for Application of Portland Cement-Based Plaster.”
Limitations
Broco Stucco Cement contains a water-repellent agent which is interground with the cement during finish grinding. No other additives are necessary.
When stucco is to be applied to smooth, non-porous surfaces to meet the thickness requirements of ASTM C-926, we recommend a quality bonding agent be used to ensure adequate adhesion.
Size
Broco Stucco Cement is available in 79 pound moisture resistant bags and in bulk containers transported by truck or rail.

Mixing
Add two thirds of the water first, then one half of the sand and then the Broco Stucco Cement. Add the rest of the sand and water to a desired consistency and mix for no less than five full minutes. A mixing time from five to ten minutes will increase the yield of your mortar.
The stucco may be applied by hand or machine. The number of coats and the thickness of the stucco should be consistent with industry standards.
Proportions for Broco Stucco
One bag of Broco Stucco when mixed with the recommended volume of sand (ASTM C-897) will produce a stucco mix that will comply with the proportion requirements for ASTM C-926, "Standard Specification for Application of Portland Cement-Based Plaster."
Curing
A light fogging with water two times a day for three days will preserve the appearance of the wall while minimizing drying shrinkage, cracking and its associated debonding. Excessive drying conditions, especially on exposed southwest walls, will require curing immediately following each coat to prevent drying shrinkage cracking.
We recommend that users follow procedures as outlined in ASTM C-926, “Standard Specification for Application of Portland Cement-Based Plaster.”
Note
Freshly mixed cement, mortar, grout or concrete may cause minor skin irritation. Avoid direct contact where possible and wash exposed skin areas promptly with water.
