Technology
At MRT, we believe product development is fundamental to the successful utilization of fly ash. The MRT Technology Center was established during the time that the company was founded and has since received 21 patents for the beneficial utilization of fly ash. The Center serves as the hub of our quality control / quality assurance testing and management, which has been successful in marketing Coal Combustion Products in previously-untapped markets.
MRT joined efforts with the CEMEX Technical Center (CTC), one of the largest of its kind in North America. Located in Riverview, Florida, the CEMEX Technical Center is equipped with the most advanced instrumentation for performing materials testing and analysis. The center provides technical support and services to all CEMEX USA customers and business units. The CEMEX Technical Center is also accredited by Construction Materials Engineering Council (CMEC) and inspected by the Cement and Concrete Reference Laboratory (CCRL).
Commitment
MRT has consistently been at the forefront of the Coal Combustion Product industry, since its inception in 1996 and continuing past its purchase by CEMEX in 2003.
CEMEX is one of the oldest and largest consumers of fly ash, consuming 1.5 million tons of Coal Combustion Products per year through its own cement plants and ready-mix operations. Jointly with MRT, CEMEX successfully promotes the use of Coal Combustion Products throughout the U.S., combining customer service and capital resources to support our customers and utility partners.
